I am looking for any info available in 34B. I drew an October tag. I have never hunted the unit. I am willing to pay for good information and would entertain the idea of paying for a guide if anyone that knows the unit is interested. My goals are to harvest a nice 3 point. I would like an 80 inch buck but will not pass on a symetrical 3 point.

If you are interested please give me a call at 480-980-4912. Serious callers only.

Thanks.

The Whetstones, great area, at one time, after the first day look low around Rickett mine or on the nw side by haystack mtn.Been really dry ,most springs are dried up.Limited big bucks, some spikes some forks.Good lion area, many does, bucks later in the year.Good Luck!!Problem is access, some idiots shot up a ranchers Bull and some equipment a couple years back.Dont forget Middle canyon.Scout hard.

Heres a buck I took from 34B a few years ago. Saw him on opening day and passed on him. Then took him 6 days later after being unable to find anything better. A real good friend of mine who is a much better hunter was not able to get one as good as this one. Also, a year later, some other friends who are also much better hunters could not find any bucks to their liking. They did not harvest that year. Can be a tough hunt. Some of my friends have the same hunt you do this year. Maybe you will run into them. CB

Man how could you pass on that. That is a beauty. I have hunted quail in 34b but only in the flats and have only seen mule deer.

I was down in the flats when I glassed him and had to hump it up the mountain for 45 minutes before getting to within 325 yards for a shot. He was pretty much at the top. Notice the elevation differential in the pic. CB

I see what you mean you had to climb quite a bit. That is a beautiful deer you got there.

Thanks. It is the last one I have taken. I got skunked in AZ this year. Missed my shot last year and was skunked in AZ the year before. Wish I could go back 25 years and be able to hunt Coues when Dec tags were over the counter and good for the whole state. CB

I remember in the early 80's my stepfather and I would get leftover tags for coues deer. We had 2 deer tags apiece. It was great! Between the both of us, we had 4 deer tags. We hunted in unit 35b by Patagonia.

35b is a tough hunt in my mind because of how steep and thick the terrain is. I hunt down there for mearns and have found some decent sheds and seen a few deer but it is to thick for me.
