I am a college student attending NMSU and hold a Mule tag for 27. I know this is Coues Country, but looking for some direction for a do it yourself 5 day hunt. Just a place to start would be appreciated. Tried the Mule Deer forum a month ago No Response. Thought you experts could help since tons of threads posted about SW NM in the Coues Section. Thanks

go to bootheel, skeleton canyon, do u have a map of coronado national forest map, check it out, there are good place! and u can try near cloverale but lots of private so be careful! also u can try ghost town (Steins) there are nice place to hunt around

Hunt went off without a glitch. Saw a fair number of Coues. No luck on Muleys, but I think we focused a liitle too far north.

Try clanton draw area also towards arizona on the Geranimo Trail road good hunting near the pass CM
