Coues Rut Or Not???

Has anyone seen much rutting activity yet on the Arizona Coues hunts? I've not seen one buck with does yet. I'm seeing bucks still in bachelor groups (4 together and 2 toghether) and bucks alone. This was during the first two days of the hunt. My son and I will be going out after Christmas for a few more days. We're hunting 24b.

Its still early but the buck I took on opening day was in an early rut. He was with four does and two other bucks. One of the does were in heat and he would not leave her. Every time she got up to move he was right on her but. I the same basin I found another small buck that had one doe with him, and she seemed to be in heat too.

Hope you and Corey have a good hunt in 24. You will probably see some prerut activity of bucks wandering around in search of a hot doe, but I suspect much of the heavy rut will be in January.

In 33 yesterday I saw a 80ish buck chasing around a bunch of does, one in particulare seemed close to being ready. Hopefully it picks up more before the end of the year. Good luck.

My frind reported today he saw some rutting activity in 33. SHould be good this weekend

I spent a few days in 33 and 36 and bucks were rutting pretty hard. I saw as many as 4 bucks chasing one doe, then leave and chase another one. Getting good for Jan. Archery

I spent Dec 26th thru Dec 30th on the back side of the Rincon's
Unit 33 sure is dry.

While bow hunting I saw over 30 does and only one spike.

Very little sign of the BIG GUYS looking for love.(first you have to see the BIG GUYS)

I hope the RUT will heat-up and the temp's will cool down
come that last week of January.
