Protect our December Coues tags

As I'm sure most of you know, AZGFD has talking about reducing the number of December Coues tags in the Central Region. I knew they were talking about this, but I just looked at the actual recommendations on the department website. They want to reduce the tags to only 50!!!!! Their thought is that this will reduce the overall success rate and therefore offer more tags during the early hunts. This is aweful! Basically, they are going to make it as hard as the late muley tags to draw. These December tags were one of the few QUALITY tags you could actually draw every couple of years. Now they want to reduce these tags so they can issue more tags overall and make more money. I don't know about you, but I hate it when the department penalizes the dedicated/hardcore hunter just to pad its pockets or provide "more opportunity" for the weekend Joe Schmo who probably won't go on the hunt anyway. There is a meeting to approve these changes on April 21-22. Let's all show up and let them know what we think!

Shane, I hope you filled out the deer survey on AZGFD or the link to www.azdeer.org. There has been talk for weeks now about making your voice heard similar to the elk hunt proposed changes. Tell all your friends to submit the deer survey and go to the meeting on the 22nd or the coues hunts will change without us hunters input......... Thanks, Allen Taylor......

Yes I filled out the survey, and I also had my brother, dad, and others do it too. This ruling is extremely important and could change AZ coues hunting for a long time. Unfortunately, I work at a job where I can't take off on Saturday to go to the meeting. Believe me, I wish I could be there.
