CouesWhitetail.com

I had viruses that were caught too, I also got an email from coueswhitetail.com too, I forwarded it to Amanda.
I was at the meeting, but I had to leave when they broke for lunch, as far as the whitetail tags go, I think we are screwed, they were ready to vote and everyone had already said their piece, the early hunts were going to be 6 days, but they drastically cut back the december hunts in the central units, if it was all approved, I was waiting for the info on the final vote too. Good luck

The forum was hacked into and someone sent a mass email out to everyone on CouesWhitetail.com. I believe the email contained an internet worm and they somehow posted the worm so it tries to hack into every computer that goes to my site.

Don't open the email, if you haven't already.

This highlights the importance of having your antivirus program updated constantly. I highly recommend getting the latest version of whatever antivirus software you want. I use Norton Antivirus and it successfully detects and stops the intrusion attempt every time I go to my site now.

I am working with tech support to try and find the problem and fix it. In the meantime I banned Stanley since the hacker took over his identity on CouesWhitetail.com. Sorry Stan!! :)

Yup, and it was nasty worm to get rid of once it got on to my PC. I think I finally got it all with SpyDocter. If you look at the email message, it obviously originated either in the UK or Canada because favorite is spelled with a u as in "favourite."

Let us know here when you get the site cleaned up. -TONY

I went to website and thought my computer was going to explode! I have Cox security system and it did catch it.

Anyways, regarding the meeting yesterday. The commission did cut a over 1000 December tags and put them in OCt/Nov slots. IMO they did not regard the survey at all.

I should not say "they". Joe Melton and Hay Gilstrap did but they were the minority on a 5 person commission. Joe even said that he did not need a survey to tell him that we did not want this change! The audience applauded for that, I must say that is the first applause I have ever heard in response to a commissioners comments.

We will need to go back to the drawing board next year.

Chris I agree you guys did an excellent presentation, I thought you answered all their questions only to have it trown back in your faces like it didn't matter when the 6500 that care enough to answer a survey for their future don't matter to them just a few people in the room isn't going to matter to them either, Keep up the great work and hopefully you will get more support in the future, you have mine now for sure.

k i thought i wasnt the only one who was having this problem. that is bad! why would someone want to steal CW.com? my norton stopped it also but damn that sucks!

I just spent two days restoring my computer. A quarantined virus got free when I went to switch Anti-virus protection. What a nightmare! Then I go to CWT.com and Norton Internet Security goes crazy! I was really sweating!
So did the Commission approve the hunt regs as recommended completely or did they listen at all to the hunters? Wish I could have been there.

Thanks Keith. Amanda did most of the work, she just did not want to stand up there so she made me do it. I was more the messenger than the motivating force behind it.

It is a little frustrating to do all that work and spend the money only to have the data ignored. I wish they would have told us before we did it that they did not care what the results would say.

To say it lightly I was real pissed the way they acted, and the way they justified theirselves, I am even a little more pissed that I didn't get up there and say anything, being there was one thing, but not saying anything was just about worthless on my part, not that it would have mattered, but it would have to me and it won't happen again. Again thanks to you guys for all your efforts on our part.
Keith

Greetings:

So what were the final outcomes on the non-resident percentage issues? I heard it was going to be a straight across 10% cap. If they did that, I am looking at trying to draw from three tags with the reduction in December. CRAP! What are they thinking?
I think everyone ought to personally thank Taulman's outfit for screwing the whole system up for the almighty dollar.....

Chris/Amanda et al. I am not surprised with the "vote" but am once again irritated that our voice is just not heard by most of the commissioners. This situation/outcome makes it even more valuable that the law has been put in place for protecting residents that the commissioners cant touch. I dont know the solution for the deaf commissioners but somehow some way they need not be a puppet group that jumps for increases in revenue at the expense of the hunters and wildlife................ Thanks, Allen Taylor......

I tried to access CWT Sunday evening, and Norton detected a virus called Bloodhound.
After reading this on MM, I noticed an e-mail from CWT.com about a card for me. I deleted the e-mail.

At least it livened it up here a bit!

Hope you get your website back up Amanda.
I also hope those that got bit by the virus don't have too many issues with restoring the system back. I keep going back to CW.com by habit and my anti virus just goes crazy. I never learn I guess.

Amanda can you let us know when its clear to go back to your great site thanks CM

It seems to be all cleared up now. The tech guys restored the forum and I fixed the main page by deleting it and reloading it.

Seems to working ok for now. Anyone care to go test it out and let everyone here know if it really is ok?

Thanks for your patience and I apologize to anyone who got "bit".

Amanda

There seems to be a problem with CWT again. I keep getting error messages when I try to enter the discussion forum.

I had a trojan horse virus get into my computer yesterday, I assume it was from the CWT.com forum. I have e-mailed Amanda and she has e-mailed me that she is working on it.
