Hi Everyone,
I want to share a few pictures with you of the great buck I was blessed with this year. I got him Sunday morning, Nov 18th around 11:30. I had scouted this area very hard this year. Every chance I had I was there looking and tracking, checking the ever changing feeding areas and water sources. I found this buck Friday morning and really thought he was another buck I was hunting. In the past three weeks I had lost track of a pair of bucks that I had been watching all year. Friday morning I found a set of large tracks in a feeding area and followed them to a small water source, I knew I had found them! There was several new tracks that I had not seen in the pass two weeks. I set up a pop up blind and decided to sit the water all day. After checking all of my trail camera disks Friday night, I changed my mind and and sat in another blind where a really nice buck had been posing friday morning. All day Saturday I thought about the tracks and about the two bucks I knew where living in the other area. These bucks are special as I have watched them grow for the past three years. The largest of them should be around six or seven years old and the other around four . As luck would have it, I did not see the picture posing buck on Saturday. Sunday morning I was up and ready at 4:00 and in the blind at 5:30, at 10:00 four animals came in and visited the water. At 11:00 I checked my watch and some time later a buck came down the trail alone. He was standing behind some brush and I knew he was different. When he walked around and stood at the water I knew he was not the same deer. As I looked through my scope I could not believe the mass and quickly decided to shoot....but he was standing facing me. As I pondered his next move, thoughts of him getting away in the thick brush made me shiver. Facing me or not I touched the trigger. I could see him fold in the scope at the sound of the shot. When I finally got to him, I could not believe my eyes, he was huge....I am truly blessed to had this experience. The next time I looked at my watch it was 12:00 noon. He is a six by five with two stickers and his gross score is 125 inches. It is still hard to believe I am so lucky.
