This is to anyone familiar with this unit.

1) Are there mtn lions in the area? I've never seen or heard of them. I was just curious?

2) Any condition updates? Not looking for spots, I've already got mine...but how's the water levels? Dry? Etc...???

Thanks for the replies.

Good luck to all.

I hunted it and there was a lion working the water source nearby- a bow hunter missed it with his "illegal alien pistol"- a 9mm, uncertain why the pistol- I'ld rather try the bow than a puny 9mm. I would be more concerned about the illegals than the lion- unless you are hoping to see a lion and tag it. You can definitly tag some illegals if the border patrol will write you a tag. It was 2 yrs ago so am unsure of conditions.

Thanks Squirrel-

Yeah, I was wondering about packing a lion tag along with me. We might try to call one in. Not concerned about the illegals...I'll "Mule Jerk" them if they get too close. lol

thanks for the updates.

Plenty of lions in that country, however calling them can of course be difficult. As far as the illegals, they are rarely a problem. The last thing they want to do is draw unwanted attention to themselves, so they do their best to avoid you if they know you are there. It's a good bet that you'll see some however.

Well, guess I'll go ahead and get a lion tag....just in case. And as far as the illegals, we'll me mobile. So I don't expect any problems w/ the immigrants. Thanks again for the input.

Lots of lions and illegals. If the illegals are walking you're usually OK. If they are running with a backpack they are carrying drugs and won't hesitate to harm. The drug runners usually are out in the middle of the night so keep a gun close to your side in the tent, trailer... Good luck and be safe.

Thank you for the sound advise. We will definitely have a side arm in the tent at night.

Casey- How did you get your lion? Calling or dogs? Just curious!
