KALIFORNIA DRAW

Just thought we could get a post going to share what basket we were all putting next years monster blacktail dreams in.

For the 15th year in a row I will be putting in for X-7A and hope to keep my "no-draw" streak alive (how do ya like the reverse psychology!). Second choice is a Big green "B" zoner. Then add the points I'll get for not drawinf antelope, elk, and sheep, and away we go! So, come July. I should be maxed out on points for all species, and holding 1 of 55000
"B" tags.
On a side note, Gotta love Kalifornia. I'm a hunter safety instructor and donate 6 weeks worth of nights a year to educate and promote our sport. Think they could comp a license, tag or stmap....helllll no. That's ok, the excitement of the kids I get to teach is payment enough!

Good luck y'all.

No draw for me, just A-zone tags. I saw four beauties this weekend. Bow season is coming soon!

FPB:

Holy Smokes......you're alive! Good to see you still around bud.

Well, of course I put in for the terrible two (elk & sheep) so I guess I'll get another point. :) Deer, well I'm getting the usual...Archery Only & A31 (LA archery). With the bucks I've been seeing the last two weekends, I can't wait until the bow season.

Hopefully you'll get drawn for one of those elk or sheep hunts. Good luck.

X-1,Then Big green as a two deer back up!
Then again there SOUTHERN UTAH! And Wyoming!(maybe?).
I hunt the Blackies mostly in the wilderness borders after the opener and see good bucks every year.
X-1 I hunt southwest of Medicine Lake. I got my bucks last year but it was very tough in the "X" zone(I only saw 4 bucks and took the biggest). No monsters seen taken! so I'm hoping for a chance again this year!

LAST EDITED ON May-24-04 AT 08:15PM (MST)[p] Probably get an A tag and a B tag, pack into the Trinity Alps wilderness ( I hurt just thinking about it!)
I'll probably get a mediocre elk tag in Oregon this year too.

My Dad and I put in for X3b, then X6a, then old faithful B zone.
Probably will get B zone again, but the points should help for next year.

X3B for me, followed by the B zone.

But, there may be a little problem for me, hope not.

I got my tags last week for me and my 2 boys, one a junior and the other 2 an adult. Filled out everything and mailed them off early and late last week.

Yesterday I get a call from DFG saying that my son, Phillip has an incorrect license number. He has an adult license and should have a junior. So, I look at all the licenses, and the guy at the store gave me the wrong licenses for all of us. My oldest son and I have junior license and my youngest has an adult. I didn't even notice, even when I was filling everything out.

Anyhow, DFG said to exchange them and call them back with the correct numbers, which I did. They have recieved everything except my deer apps. She said they would change everthing in the system, with a note saying what happened.

Keeping my fingers crossed that this all goes ok, I would hate to not get drawn because of this stupid error on my side, and the clerk at the store.

I'm still kickin' and still reading. Work has been crazy, and I bought a new house. I still read the sight everyday, just don't post much. Things are starting to pick up though, and my 2003 deer season hangover is almost out of my system. Time to jump back in feet first and add my 2 cents here and there. Good luck in the draws.
