Theory on Drawing Ca. tags?

I noticed that almost every body here puts in for a second and a third choice tag, if you do that the DFG just figures your not that serious about your first choice, and give you your second choice ect; chances are that there'll be A-zone & B-zone tags left after the draw anyways?.case and point When me & my boys applied for M-zone tags, on our tags we just put only one choice (M-?) and left the others blank, the first year my oldest son drew, the second year my other son drew.

That was before the bonus point system, but I don't believe that the DFG keep?s their hands out of the process anyways??

Manny,
I've always put down the second and third choices. Before Ca. initiated the point system, I drew X5b my first time applying and X3b the following year.

Kind of hard to believe that DFG would altogether bypass your first choice and give you your second choice just because they thought you weren't serious.

Could it be, that the luck of the draw was on your side for you and your boys?

I know not a lot of people have anything good to say about DFG, but they impressed the hell out of me this year.

I mistakenly purchesd junior lincenses for myself and my 16 year old son, and an adult license for my 14 year old. Actually, the saleman sold me the wrong one's and I didn't notice. Well, after I sent in the apps. DFG called me to tell me of the error, they noticed the birth dates didn't jive with what type of license numbers were on the applications. I had to exchange the licenses, and call DFG back with the correct information. This was done, and I'm still in the draw. They could of easily tossed the apps. due to having the incorrect information on them, instead, they called me to tell me of the mistake. They were extreamly helpfull and polite during this whole process.
