Picture was taken on the Hunt Ranch out of Laytonville. Nice bucks right now. Brian

I just got home from the weekend in the marbles mt,I saw BUCKS like these every where down in FT JONES area even saw a group of
5-6 (two where monsters!)walking knee deep water(stream) under Route 3(road) tried to get a photo but a had to turn around and park on the some what busy road(lots of farming going on now).
As far as the Elk scouting went I was on the east side and thought I saw a few but nothing but a mere glimps a few times! Never Elk hunted before!thought it would be "A SLAM DUNK!"
Must hit the stair master 4-5 times a week and anything else I can do like the bike, hikes, walks, gym!
The trails arn't bad but either ways vertitcal like the ALPS!!
Going up again next weekend on the west side outta SOMES BAR!
any of you guys been their? its wetter, denser, its got more Elk!

My Dodge got avg 7.9 mi to the gal(909 miles trip!)!! I'm taking off the camper!!

Rackmaster,
I have seen those bucks in the river (hwy 3 ft. jones)
many times now (in fact almost every morn. on the way to work in ft. jones). Pretty nice ones. But if you really want to see
some MONSTERS! head out eastside rd. from ft. jones about 3 miles, take a left on scarface rd. Go up scarface rd. a mile or so and it turns right then comes to a T go left. If you make this drive at around 7:30 or 8:00 pm till dark you will see some of the hugest blacktail ever i swear yo will !!
Where did you scout elk last weekend? Somes bar area is definetly the elk capital!
