Here a picture (finally) of my hunting partner's pending archery state record Columbian Blacktail deer. It gross scores about 163" P&Y and will net 153" and some change. It beats his current state record by about 4". Hope you enjoy.

Nice looking deer! Good to see that someone get a deer that size. Thanks for posting the pic.

Beautiful Blackie and with a bow even more of a trophy.. Congrats to your friend on a job well done. My hat is off to him.

Very nice BT. Looks like a coastal buck. Was he off of private or public land. Great job.

PAL:

He was arrowed on public land over 8 miles in the backcountry of the Trinity Alps Wilderness. It's a hard hunt, but well worth it at times. This is his fourth blackie over 130". He deserves all of them, as he's hunted them there for over 25 years. Guess all that dedication has payed off well for him.

I've taken a few book animals up there with him, but he's the man when it comes to monster blacktails. I just don't have the patience to sit in a treestand as long as he does. Guess that's why my blacktails are smaller than his. :)

Thanks for the reply, I saw your other post after I left the above reply... and he definately earned that buck out of the Alps. I can relate, I hunted the area north of Junction City/Helena quite a few years ago (got a nice 3x3) but didn't venture into the Alps... but I could see them from there, that's some rugged, steep country!

Fantastic Buck!

I've never hunted with him, but I can tell that he would be the most patient hunter you'd ever find.
