Southern Ca. Hunting?

I just moved back to Cali from AZ. Grew up in Sacramento, but recently moved down to Southern Cal. wow things have gotten expensive around here. I have been in Flagstaff for 4 years and
Would like to start hunting Ca. again, anybody know of decent hunting in the Orange county or outlying areas, Coastal deer, pigs, birds ect.
Any advise would be appreciated. Bow hunting is my passion, well and Fly Fishing.

Well your best bet is to start putting in for the limited entry hunts and building points. You've got quite a few choices with a bow and long seasons... With an AO1 (archery only) I believe you can hunt any A, B, or D unit, which covers the majority of the state. You can get two tags in Cal so you'll have lots of choices around the state, also. Go to http://www.dfg.ca.gov/ and start digging around to prep for next years draw for the special hunts. Deer are hard to come by in SoCal although they are here.
