Here is a picture of my friends Blacktail buck he got last year at their hunting club ranch west of Healdsburg. The mount sure turned out nice. A fella in Willits did the taxidermy.

Nice buck. My dad went to high school there and it is where I saw my first buck hunt. We used to hunt out in dry creek.

Wow! Having looked at blacktails all my life, I think I'm qualified to say that is probably the best taxidermy I've ever seen on a blacktail. It looks totally alive. Not the best winter coat either. I live in Eureka so if I ever need a taxidermist I'll be getting ahold of you. Congrats to the hunter and the taxidermist.

Thanks Brian,

Steve

I'm sure that I know your dad and his brother too that passed away, but that is another story. It was taken out pass the Lake Sonoma and Skaggs Springs road area.

Steve,
I think Jack got this buck last year right towards the end of the rifle season here which is late summer I think, not sure of dates since I don't hunt this heat anymore. They fight with the ticks and rattlesnakes every year and that is not for me. Along with heavy under brush areas on ranch.
The Tax man in Willits is a full time fella and does it from his house and does not advertise, just word of mouth and he is good and Jack had it back in 9 months.
If you ever need a Tax man, let me know and I'll send you his name and address.

Brian
P.S. Another member here at MM used this same Taxidermist. "bigmoosie" can vouch for him too.
