does anybody know if you loose your bonus points or not if you move outta state..?...

Its a good qustion! I know for sure that A NONRES cannot apply for ELK AND GOATS in Ca! So I would think those you loose for sure! And to get a PP you would have to by an license(over 100)
I would not do it for Ca deer zone Manny!

Hey Manny,

Not sure about the points, but I can save you some serious license money. Buy a lifetime license before you move. If you decide to move, you still have a license for life, regardless of res- non-res status. The savings can add up quickly.

For you others thinking about it, I'm 32, and based on a 5% increase in tag fees every year (historic +/- 1%) It will take 17 years to break even. Anything after my 49th b-day will be free hunting. If I move out of state it would pay itself off even faster. By the way, the estimated license fee when I pay-off is 78.00.

Q. Is the license valid if I move out of state, either temporarily or permanently?

A. You must be a resident to purchase the license, but after the purchase, it will be valid for use in California for the rest of your life, regardless of where you reside.

Good luck on the move

Thanks for the info Larry' but as un-lucky as I've been these last 25 years of trying to draw an Elk, Muley, Sheep tag, why bother...another un-successful draw for bucks so far this year...won't miss it I think...

at least in Oregon I buy an over the counter archery tag for Elk & muley's.....Good by Cali, no remorse here...Manny
