The guy who skinned that buck out needs a good talkin to. That buck would have made a realy nice mount. Who shot the buck? Score? Thanks for posting a better picture.

WOW,cool buck.I would definately find another cape and mount that sucker! Thanks for sharing the picture, and congrats to the hunter.

IF it only had eyeguards! ha Cograts on a buck of a lifetime. Id shoot it and mount it in a heartbeat. Let me clarify the mount thing......

I am not sure who shot it.I got the picture from a friend who knows the guy.Sure is a dandy though.

Wow, talk about character.
Who would cut the head off without saving the cape on a great buck like that? First thing that comes to mind is that it may have been poached. Hope I'm wrong.

I have a Moto Dremmel and some glue . Can you show me how to make a small 3 x 3 look really cool like that? Also good job on not capeing it out it's not really worth mounting once you take the kick stands off.

Why would that be the first thing that came to your mind? Anyone one that shoots a nice buck is a pontential poacher? But if you shoot a spike your not? I don't get it.

Alot of people take thier hunting very serious, and spend alot of time and money on scouting, they also pass up many smaller bucks for the deer they have in thier head as the deer they want to take.

Anyway nice buck, congrats to the hunter.

I've seen alot of pics of animals that were poached. The poacher just wacks the head off and is gone. Most people that spend alot of money and time and pass on smaller bucks would of caped that buck out to mounted. I never said it was poached. Just looks like a pic you would see that was taken in front of the game and fish office. Sorry if you don't see what I was talking about.

PS who sais anything about shooting a spike?

maybe he just likes to euro mount them or even maybe he is a meat hunter! maybe he likes to just moynt the way you see it!! who cares!!! CONGRATS TO THE HUNTER ON A AWESOME BUCK!!

It also could have been a younger hunter that didnt know quite how to cape a deer out. I know i would mount it in a heartbeat. A buck that unique is once in a lifetime.

differant!
same buck?

I found out that the buck was taken this past season in South Puget Sound WA. The buck was very old and dressed out at 180lbs. The guy who shot the buck has European mounts done on all his critters.

(God I wish I never picked dmanmastertracker, I keep writing damnmastertracker by accident-:)

The buck WAS at the Puyallup Sportsman's Show, it DID score well enough to make the all-time State list and it WAS harvested in Kitsap County. Saw it too, nice hog.

-Damnmastertersaaga -oh what the hell ever..... I give up..

Thats a nice animal. I would love to hunt some blacktail.

This is a really old thread but I thought I would bring it to life.

This buck was featured at the Eugene Sportsmen's Show this past weekend in Oregon. I saw it last year when it was just the horns lying on the floor at the show and so it was really neat to see it shoulder mounted. Helluva nice buck..... amazing it scored that well too.

Check out the blacktail on the left too.... now that's a stud!

Thank you very much for that "update". It's neat to see it mounted. You're right, the buck next to it almost takes my breath away!

The Big Blacktail on the LEFT IS NOT A COLUMBIAN BLACKTAIL. IT WAS KILLED EAST OF I-5. THE OREGON RECORD BOOK CALLS THEM COLUMBIAN DO NOT KID YOURSELF THAT BUCK THERE IS 170 AND CHANGE AND IS A CASCADIAN BLACKTAIL. I RIPPED INTO THE OREGON RECORD BOOK BECAUSE IT IS USING THE PROPER NAME THE BOONE AND CROCKETT DOES TO ADVERTISE THE COLUMBIAN'S. JUST WANT EVERYONE TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY KNOW IT IS A CASCADIAN BLACKTAIL NOT A TRUE COLUMBIAN BLACKTAIL.
