Well it's that time of the year again. Nothing to do but wack coyotes, shed hunt and plan for the upcoming season. Lets see how many people we can get to post their 2005 Blacktails. This will give us all something to look forward to. Here is a few pictures of my California A-zone bucks.

Bill,
Congratulations on a successful 2005. Both great bucks. No pictures for me this year, I'm sorry to say.

Thanks everyone, the picture of the last buck makes him look taller than he really is. He is 20 inches tall if you measure up the main beam to the tip of the G2. 17 1/2 straight up from the skull plate.
I was hopping people would have some others to post.

Hey Matt,
I shoot a Mathews Q2. If you take Eastmans bowhunting journal they published the story on the buck October or November issue.
Here is an image with the bow.
Thanks,

LAST EDITED ON Feb-18-06 AT 10:35PM (MST)[p]I cannot get into the spot where these big bucks are until mid to late June.
If I see any deer in the alps in 2 months they are on their way back up.
Sure there are some locals that stay low but not many.
In 2 months I will be chasing turkeys or plucking Abalone.
My Alps scouting starts in June and July when the deer are where they will be for the summer.

Nice Elk, I bet that one ate good.

Thanks Matt
Yeah the little one is due in late June, a girl. Thank god not in hunting season LOL.

Here's my biggest for '05. Right in the middle of the rut (2nd week Nov) in southeast Alaska. It was a frozen, krunchy snow kinda day. Most of the deer were hearing us before we ever got very close. Called in a couple of deer, but no bucks. Got lucky and intercepted this fully-rutted buck while we was working his rubline. He was on the other side of a small drainage and upwind, so there was some noise to cover us. The kid was bummed out as I was in the lead and did not pass up this 3-pointer.

Kyle, congratulations on the expected arrival in June. You'll be ready for some serious hunting by September.:)
