Tactics

Hi, im an arizona boy who just moved up to forest grove oregon. Im looking forward to the upcoming archery season for blacktails and roosevelts. Im planning on hunting the tillamook state forest. I do not have a treestand, nor do i have good knowledge of the habits of these animals. Im planning on mostly walking and stalking the whole day because ive found glassing this area very limited. Is this my best plan of action, or can anybody recomend different tactics. I would also appreciate any suggestions on areas to hunt.

I don't live in oregon but I do live in N. Calif. and have hunted Blacktail all my life. If you would like I can give you some tips? If so let me know and I will PM you?

Oh yeah, i would love any help you can give me, im a college kid and my freezer could use some meat. Im an experienced hunter so i dont need you to start from scratch, but its those differences for this species that im interested in. thanks
