Wa. Lewis County blacktail land

OK, Coonhound and other Wa. blacktail guru's here's the question. Wheyerhauser closed my favorite little 3,000 acre blacktail hole near Mineral about five years ago and said it was "sold". Instead all I've seen in there are Wheyerhauser good 'ol boys hunting during the season and not one ounce of development, as I was told is was sold for home sites. Some of you will know where I'm talking about. I don't mind land closed for a legit reason, but just to become a private exec. hunting ground?? Any other info??

Wheyerhauser "owns" the property don't they ? Maybe you should buy it from them.

And when you do purchase the land...open it up to all hunters.

D -so you don't like the way State lands are managed, perhaps you should buy it from them? As a person who has donated their own time to these timerlands in restoration projects, it's nice to see a return now and then, rather than more closing gates with no access. That particular piece bugs me a bit, and it would bug you too if it was your main place to hunt blacktail. The worst part about it is that it was hike in only and since they goons closed the gates, they open them up and drive around in there during the hunting season now, I've seen them do it. This wasn't a debate post, I was asking the Wa. guys if they had any other info..

Where is it located? I have hunted up there for years and have not seen any of this...

RE: Wa. Lewis County blacktail land

The land is sub divided into "Mini Ranches" I think 80 acres, I have seen 2 drilled wells that are capped off. I have seen a few car loads of prospective buyers hauled up by a real estate agent, I don't think it's selling like hot cakes. If you look at the boundaries close to the road you will see signs that say "No Hunting Without Written Permission". My suggestion would be to give Wheyerhauser a call and ask about the Written permission.

Of course there are several other areas that are walk in only in this general area that are every bit as productive.

A lot a people are still walking in on the railroad tracks and accessing it from that side, no signs over there. I'm not saying I condone intentional treaspassing. What I am saying is there are still quite a few people hunting in there and I doubt any of them have the "Written Permission".
