Here is a picture of my 05 drop horn blacktail I called in to within 12 yards. He came in grunting with a big ol lip curl, then WAMO! the ol Norma barked again! I love that old gun. I was about 5 miles in my walk in unit when I dumped him.

With "the ol Norma".

Would that be .308 or 358?

I've alway lusted for a .358 N. I have rifles on either side - a .338 winny and a .375-338.

Gonna head out for blacktail over Alaska Day weekend (Oct 18-22.) Got a brownie tag just in case I find that SOB who had his way with my dinghy. Even his cousin will do.

That would be the 308!Good hunting to ya!If you need a good taxidermist give me a call!!!!!

Yo polarbear, Its called no tellum creek by no name ridge! No really , off of Johnson creek. I live right at the end of johnson creek across skookumchuck rd by the release sight.I'd actually called a smaller one in just like it for my wife about 5 years ago by the johnson creek pit. It looks like the bucks broke there pedicle and it healed pointing down so the horns grow downward instead of up. Kinda cool.

Well howdy neighbor. I live just on the other side of the hill from you on Vail Cutoff Rd. Been all over that country. I shot a buck many years ago on the Deschutes side of the hill that had normal points on one side and on the other they all pointed forward. I did him and the local gene pool a favor by culling him out. Plus is was the last day of extended season. Some guys that I know hunted that area behind you during early archery elk this year and got into some decent bulls. I know of one 5x5 that they got opening day.
