Leaving this afternoon for 5 more days of archery blacktail hunting. So far not much luck. Who else is going this holiday weekend?

Just to let you know, yesterday, every buck we saw was hard horned in the Yolla Bolly Wilds! This and the full moon will crate a hole can of whoop asss.

Yea, I think the easy ones have already been taken. I was sick the first weekend, had some "emergency" at work last weekend. I'm going to start smoking a batch of salmon this weekend to take to Wyoming next month, but will try to slip away Sunday evening for an overnight hunt. I just need to get away......

Good luck!

Well.... Great big 4x4 still out there. Came by my stand at 35 yards thurs pm and I blew the shot. Bounced an arrow across the blackies shoulders. He must of not know what happened because he came by friday morning at about 70 yards. Too far for someone who can't hit them at 35. With 3 more bucks both times. Never saw them again after friday. Will be waiting with a 300 mag. in september. Darn elk were EVERYWHERE!
Eel make me some salmon too!

I was up in the mountains this weekend and saw a few
really nice bucks however it was very very dry!
I saw 9 rattle snakes also.... (well the dog was more aware of them than me!).
30 more day with out rain.... rough!

I have only been seeing forkies. Two of them are maybe 18inch. The last two weeks should be better.

Been hunting alot up here in N.Cal and so far no luck. Went out this last weekend and saw a couple of bucks most of them were hard horned only couple were in the velvet.

Good luck

Leaving tonight for Colo. Muzzy hunt. Since I can't keep secrets almost all the deer including nice bucks were in the canyon bottoms close to water. Hunted up high the week before and saw close to nothing. Just don't shoot my 4x4.
