My hunting buddy and I took these two blacktails in Mendicino county California opening morning about twelve years ago. We had gotten up quite early so we could climb down into a deep canyon before first light. Not having spotted any deer we headed back and at noon were about 100 yards from camp and the road when we saw these two deer out in an opening. After dropping both, we were able to drive right up to them and carry them to camp to butcher. Don't you just hate it when it happens this way? Anyway here's a couple of pictures of my buddy with the four point he shot- I took the fork.
