My son took this photo on 6/2. The buck was feeding in his back yard. I can't wait till season opens.

That's a sweet looking heavy horned blackie right there!! Looks like a split g-4 on his right side. Smoker buck, looks mature from the depth of his gut. If you're hunting that guy, hope you or your son gets a crack at him.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-17-09 AT 04:19PM (MST)[p]A week ago I was coming back home on Mark West Springs Road n/e of Santa Rosa and saw a very tall 3x3 blacktail buck out in the field by an old shed about 125 yards from road. It was taller than this last picture for sure.

The bucks just about done growing around here. Saw a nice three point Sat. that was trying real hard to make four, but I don't think he will make it. One more year for him.
 
Up here in N. Calof. they are just sprouting horns some have bulbs but they are not turning up yet. I can't believe how big those bucks are in June. Anyone seeing any fawns, I haven't?
