I went over to a buddies house last night and scored a blacktail that his grandpa shot back in 1955 in Plumas County California.
My question is....what kind of blacktail would this be? It is a 6x9 that is 30 1/2" wide outside and I gross scored him at 184 6/8" with a net of 180". Where would this put the buck in the record books?
Any info is appreciated!

he would not be a blacktail book buck..wrong side of the road..
he would be another deer (no books for hybreds or cross deer that I know of)...if hes score book then hes in AS ON TYP MULE DEER!

It is classified as a mule deer and will be measured as such.....no matter what year it was taken. Still sounds like a neat buck no matter the specie.

I have shot many bucks in plumas county and most have been pure mule deer.If the buck you scored was from portola and east to the lassen border it most likley a pure muley.

I believe everything in Plumas County is considered Mule Deer. I thought I read somewhere that the west side of the Sierra's are California Mule deer and the east side are considered Rocky Mountain. I may be wrong.
