I found the old buck I photoed last year. He seems to have gone downhill a little. Last year he was a 3x2 and this year a 2x2. I wonder what he looked like years ago ? Maybe he never was a 4x4. He still has the mass but seems a little narrower now.
This buck only shows up during the rut and does not stick around much afterwards.

This is him last year.

Dude!! That thing is ridiculous..Reminds me of a buck I photographed a couple years ago here on the central coast. He was a 3by3.. Same thing..He showed up during the rut on some private land..Lived somewhere up in the brush most of the year..Thanks for posting.. maybe I'll post him when I get home later..

Huge blacktail! I love/hate those big old bucks. Elusive is an understatement.

Cool buck moose and thanks for sharing. He has some of the heaviest bases I've ever seen.

Bet you wont be getting too many more pictures of him, hes looking OLD! Great buck and pictures!

After chasing those bucks in the A zone for years I am convinced that most of them are never 4 pointers. I and my family have collected 4-5 bucks over 22" and almost that high and none were better than 3x3, though very heavy and old they did not seem to to have ever been any better than that. In one season 20 yers ago 2 28" fourpoints were taken within 300 yds of each other on the same ranch. Those were the days aand the only thing I miss about Ca.

Great pictures and awesome mass. I am surprised a buck with that kind of mass has perfect ears. Neat how he grew a second neck patch, unless he is the first bucks dad or older brother.
