Light can make and break a photo. I've found wild critters seem to prefer low light conditions, which really makes it tough to capture good photos. But it is like hunting and the more you are at it, the better the chance to catch a critter in that ideal lighting situation. Regardless of lighting though, I still snap a ton of pics in those low light conditions because it's still fun to see the critters and document them. I've been wanting to get a good lynx photo for years now. Last winter I saw quite a few lynx and they seemed to know when I had a camera and when I didn't. Everytime I didn't, they would pose and allow me to get up close and admire them. Everytime I had the camera they were gone in a flash. Have been bringing the camera to work again this winter and had one lynx give me a chance at it with the camera the other day. He was in no rush but it was last light and the shots were really blurred from hand holding the camera. I'll keep at it though and maybe one day the planets will align and I'll get that perfect shot that I long for.
