Video Editing Software

Which video editing software are you guys having luck with? I have a Canon HD camcorder that records in AVCHD and am getting into digiscoping with my point-and-shoot Panasonic Lumix LX3 that also records HD video (unsure of the format). I'd like to hear the pros and cons of multiple packages if you've used them. Thanks!

I use sony vegas. I'm pc based, and have been using vegas for about 10 years so I know it well. I believe it to be pretty user friendly. You can download a demo right off the sony vegas website.

and there are tutorials all over youtube for all the different features.
