LAST EDITED ON Jun-08-12 AT 04:12PM (MST)[p]Hey guys,
I'm looking to get into photography of wildlife and stuff like that. I bought a tines up scope cam kit last year, and fell in love with it... But I'm looking to get something like a SLR camera, that I can get some lenses for to get some good zoom to get some up-close shots.
Which cameras would you recommend for me and why? It would be nice if it wasn?t much over 1,000$... It would be nice too if it was on the smaller side because I spend a lot of time backpacking and don't want a ton of extra weight! Post some pictures too if you've got them! Thanks!!

I am a big Nikon fan. I shoot a D90 and love it! Depending on where you live, you can find some sweet deals on ksl.com. Of the Nikon's the D3100 and the D5100 have the smallest bodies. You could get either one of these cameras for under $1,000 and probably get a 70mm - 300mm lens as well. All DSLR camera are going to be bulky and heavy. I hope this helps.
