Looking for a Fairly good camera, 500-600$ish for mostly outdoor photography, i don't know much about cameras, brands, etc. Any Recommendations?

For that price range and being versatile, I would suggest the Panasonic FZ150.

Another option if you are wanting to go dslr would be the Nikon D3200 with 18-55 for about $700. This would be good for landscapes. Get a longer lens for wildlife when more money is available.

+1 on the FZ150. It has a long zoom lens and also takes very nice video.

thanks, im looking into the nikon. I Dont know much about it but ive always wanted to get into wildlife photography. Appreciate the help.

I see that Panasonic will be making an FZ200 with a constant f/2.8 aperture.

Wow!!! this evolution of digital camera's just never ends. 25mm - 600mm F/2.8 - that's totally crazy!!!

It will be interesting to see the sharpness on that lens at that extreme zoom level.

As someone commented in the DPR article, could you imagine the size and weight of that zoom lens for a dslr?
