The bolt patterns and sky colors are neat. Were you using a lightning trigger or catching them on a long exposure?

You've got a much larger set of mountain berries than I if you are out there standing on your roof taking pictures during a lightning storm! Great pics by the way and pay up your life insurance for your family's sake!

Most of these shots are from a tripod using an intervalometer. The ones with city lights are long exposures using the bulb setting.
The 4th photo down was taken handheld, I only hit the shutter 3 quick times and got lucky!
I try the set the camera on a tripod and leave it, or use a zoom lens. I am a lineman so I have much respect for electricity!

Chase what utility do you work for i started into the field working as a grunt for the lineman and then the company needed a metertech in one of our other areas so i went and thats what i am doing if i could i would like to call sometime and ask you a few questions i have been trying to get some photos like yours but cant get my settings right we are getting the same storms as you

An image that sticks in my mind is a lightning storm illuminating the observatory on Kitt Peak. It may have been in Arizona Highways magazine years ago.
