8-point progression

I was able to get a great picture of a big 8-point buck today. When I got home I realized that I had photographed him twice before, once in May and once in January. His growth from January has been pretty good. Enjoy.

What cam, lens and how far?

I use a Sony a580, and each of the photos was taken between 20-30 yards with a Tamron 70-200 f/2.8 lens. That's about max visibility here in the Texas hill country woods near my home. I also own the Tamron 200-500mm lens, which works well for me in good light, but is not fast enough for these types of wooded shots in the evening. Someday I will justify paying a few months wages for the new Sony 500mm f/4 lens
