The Short-eared Owl occurs on all continents except Antarctica and Australia; thus it has one of the largest distributions of any bird.

Even though they have a large distribution, I don't see them very often around here. Our common owls are Great Horns and Great Greys.

Very nice photo, Love seeing owls, great hunters, Had one almost pick a hat off my head while predator calling one night, the wind of the wings made me duck and he missed.
