Pete, Had a question about the GH4?? I've looked at the lumix vario 100-300mm lens for a GH4 because for me aperture and focus would be fully auto. Was wondering if either the tamron sp 150-600mm or sigma 150-600mm lens would operate in auto on the GH4?? Or what looong range fully auto telephoto lens options are available for the GH4 or even GH3? Thanks for your time!

Just saw your post below regarding the pany g6 and had the same question with this camera also. Would either the tamron or sigma 150-600mm lenses work in auto on the g6??

I don't think any of those lenses would work in auto with any of the Panasonic G(H) series cams.

I use a 100-300 for most of the time and almost always in full manual mode. It just hunts for focus in low light too much, but I'm old school and come from doing photography with fully manual lenses since the mid 70's.

A vintage 300mm f/4 or f/4.5 you can get used for $200-$300 would be a much better bet. Those huge zooms are super slow for dawn and dusk work.

The focus peaking on both the GH4 and G6 are awesome for pulling focus with manual lenses.

Cheers,
Pete
