while guys i pulled the trigger on a tikka t3 stainless 270 wsm i will be putting a leupold vx3 cds 4.5 x 14 on it i think i will be loading some 140 accubond for it SO what do you guys think will that work ok mite be looking for loads imfo ??

Thats a great light weight rifle. I dont understand the 4.5 x 14? Id go with the VX6. As far as bullets go's thats a good bullet. I would think you'll get 1/2 inch groups with that round. If you plan on shooting long range look for the highest B C maybe 150 weight.

THANKS THE SCOPE THING IS STILL UP IN THE AIR BUT I DO SHOOT LONG DISTANCE I DO HAVE A 7MM STW AND 300 WBY ,257 WBY JUST WANTED SOMETHING NEW TO PLAY WITH ITS A MAN THING LOL

Nothing wrong with the 140ab. Great bullet and the wsm is one of my favorite rounds. Im shooting the 150 accubond long range right now.

I have good luck with H4831sc. With 130 berger and 140 accubonds. And rl 17 with the 140. I tried sum 150 lr accubonds. I didn't have much luck. Going to try again though...

I have the same set up. My load is 140 accubonds with 210 match primer and 62.5 gr of h 4831 col of just under clip length of 2.862
Shoots a great group.
Enjoy your new gun. They shoot sweet.

thanks guy i was hopping this a good gun and cal. can anyone get those accubond long range to shoot good havn't heard to much good about them yet

Cahunter805 i believe has had good luck with the Accubond LR 150's thru his but i didn't or haven't had great results to date.

Nothing wrong with the 140 Accubond, NOTHING at all, IMO, an outstanding cartridge-bullet combo!!

I have a tikka t3 270 wsm ss super magnum, had to modify th mag so i could seat them out (utbe), trigger 1.5lb, piller and glass bedded, boyds VT.
COL 75.90mm, just of lands
150gr NALR
ADI 2209 59gr
CCI 250
Norma brass
Av mv 2950fps
Av 5rnd gp @100m 0.35", best 0.32"

I want to try R17 or 22 to push them up to 3050-3100fps. still too try.

My loading notes are still packed away from our recent move, but my Tikka 270 WSM shot anything I fed it well. I've shot 2 bears with the 140 AB and they performed excellently. The rifle liked the 140 AB with RL-22 and Fed 215M primers. Seated to just under magazine length. Not exactly a one hole load, but definitely cloverleaves if I do my part.

Do yourself a favor though- ditch the crappy recoil pad and swap it for a limbsaver. Made a huge difference.

Sorry, don't mean to hijack your thread. But I'm shooting backbones right now. My rifles a winchester 70, 1 in 10 twist. What's the heaviest bullet I can stabilize?

Hi guys, still have'nt tried R17 or 22, however, as i hav commented in another 270 wsm post about th effects of the 150gr NABLR on a medium sz deer neck shot i hav just shot another at longer ranges. Medium sz stag, just behind shoulder, round dropped him, however, fragmented/ exploded, internal damage to drop him but still alive, he would hav eventual died (30 -45 min lata), so finished him off agan. 1st shot 525m behind shoulder, after a couple stumbles etc then sat down, 2nd shot 470m to finish him off, neck, lights out. I will hav to try on larger deer to more effects/ energy/ kill at th longer ranges to be satisfied. Accuracy not a problem, where i aimed, i hit. My goal is to archieve a 700- 800m kill on medium (sika) to larger (red) deer.
