Never hath mine eyes beheld such beauty. I just got my rifle today. It is a .264 WM built by Kevin Weaver with a Pierce Titanium action, a McMillan EDGE stock hydra-coated by Beastmode hydrographics in Defected Camo, a Jewel trigger set at 2 lbs., a 26" Benchmark barrel, Nightforce Ultralite rings on a Pierce rail, and a Leupold VX6 3X18 scope. The whole setup as seen here weighs in at 6 lbs 14 oz. I'm in love.

Very Very Nice!!! I like how it turned out. The stock dipping came out very well. What bullet you planning on shooting?

Thanks guys. I'm planning on going with 130 grain accubonds or the 129 grain long range accubonds if I can ever get my hands on them. It has a #2 barrel on it fluted. I took it to the range, zeroed it at 100 yards through the chronograph with the 130 grain accubonds, ran the ballistics into my Gunwerks rangefinder and then smacked the gong at 715 yards with the very next shot and then hit the 1050 yard gong two shots later. I haven't been able to spend much time with different loads or anything yet but I'd say that I was pleased with the first time out.

She a beauty. Hitting the Gong at those distances and she not broke it yet is a good indication she a shooter.

Any cheek weld issues with those high mounts and low comb? What pattern is the stock? Does benchmark allow fluting on a SS#2 or is it CM?

Sorry for all the questions! Good looking rifle.

what do you think of that scope? they look like a real winner I just don't like the 1/2 pound extra weight over my 4.5 X 14.

But it might be worth it.

I don't have any issues with the low comb which surprised me because my .300 RUM have a much higher comb but my eye find the scope quick with no issues. The camo pattern is "Defected" with a dark earth undertone. My gunsmith had no problem fluting the #2 which only made it a few ounces heavier than a #1. It's shooting beyond what I thought it would considering its a 6 lb gun. I love this scope and really debated using it just for the fact that I was trying to make it as light as I could. I just couldn't give it up for a few ounces.

2 cavities and a crown's worth????

haha. I wish. I either need to raise my prices or buy a cheaper rifle for that to work out.

I meant what stock pattern..I assume its a "hunters" EDGE? PTG metal?

I have a game scout EDGE here to build on..Saving up for another Pierce TI to sit in it.

Love the 264, but the nosler 26 sure looks like a winner.

I love, i really love all these mid range, .257-.284, hunting calibers. Then again, i'm a buck hunter. For deer, the life of me, i can't see why someone feels the need to go bigger.

Anyway, i looked up that Nosler 26, they say that it has the velocity at 400 yds that a 260 Rem has at the muzzle! That's saying something right there but do we really need that kind of down range energy for semi long range Buck hunting?

I suppose if a guy wanted a 1000yd Deer rifle, all things being equal, what starts fast, stays fast, and that much more down range retained energy delivered by the bullet. So yeah, i could see a nitch for the 26 Nosler... but not for me. Part of what i like in the mighty mid calibers, is the bang for the buck, the efficiency, shooting a high BC lower to medium weight bullet, at 31-3300 FPS, without a lot of recoil and muzzle blast.

Seems to me the 26 Nosler might be getting up in the Ultra Mag territory where 30-40 extra grains of powder will get you an extra 200 more FPS.

For me, Marly's choice in the classic .264 Win Mag is a great one! As you know, i'm also a big fan of the mid WSM's, the 270-280 clan, as well as the ol 7mm Rem Mag. To me, these mighty mid's are all a guy could ever need in a deer rifle. To each his own though. Those that want them big boomers are welcome to them! My $.02! :)

Joey, I do admire 6.5's and fast 270's (have a 264 win,270bee and 7wby) BUT.. there aint no denying the whop a big 30 RUM or 30-378 puts on larger critters..

I've hunted exclusively with a 7wby the last few years, but took my 30-378 on a Colorado deer/elk combo hunt last year just cuz..damn that thing whallops game! I'm currently trying to put together a rifle that gets 30-378 ballistics in a shorter and lighter package , taht being a 30-338 Lapua improved. I had my reamer and dies all lined out till the ol'boy died last month, RIP EddyBo.

My only other option i have unless I go thru the major assache of specing my own reamer and dies, is convincing Kirby Allen to chamber a light contour barrel in his 300 Allen Xpress (which is a 30-338LM IMP), something he aint known for, his "light" rifles come in at 12 lbs+..still have some hope tho :)

the 6.5's,270's and 7's will always have my respect, but when it comes to killin chit i just love a heavy 30 cal going FAST!

Dog, You are right far as i know but i never, ever once said that the bigger stuff wasn't great for the bigger stuff. Any of the mighty mids will certainly kill a elk but i'd be foolish to say that for the bigger stuff, smaller is better unless a guy like me, has proven not to be such a decent shot with the bigger mags.

My love of the mighty mids comes from my statement, which i have made here many times, that, "i am a Buck hunter!" I may shoot a Elk in the future but have no intention to do so. In my case, and other Deer-sheep-lope-caribou hunters around, no necessary need for more than your or my beloved mighty Mids.

Good luck in your project!!

Joey

REDDOG, what are you looking for as far as weight and barrel length on that Lapua IMP project? Sounds interesting. mtmuley

Not sure how I missed this post - congrats on a heck of a nice build. Really like that action, have been thinking about getting the short Ti for a build.
Anyway, again congrats to you, what color Cerakote is that? Satin Mag maybe, looks perfect though.

Great color!! Another question if you don't mind, but did you order the bolt the way it is?? The bolt knob looks different than what Pierce shows on their website - I like yours much better than what they show so was wondering if that was added by your smith?

Best I can tell from the picture it looks like the same one that came on my cm pierce action. I did order the light weight bolt option on mine
