Lefty shooting right hand bolts

I shoot left-handed and kind of prefer left-handed bolt action rifles. The only reason I shoot left-handed is because of a vision problem with my right eye. All of my dad's guns are right handed and I was raised shooting them. When it comes to hunting, I like the left-handed bolt for a faster follow up. Lately, I have spent more time at the range and usually shoot single shot so the right bolt makes no difference.
When I was younger, I used his guns to hunt with and had success, and would still use his right-hand bolts with confidence.

Also, a few years ago, I found a .338 Lapua I really wanted, was a good deal, and purchased it. It's a right-hand bolt. It's a long range rifle I use at the range and to just mess around and have a lot of fun with.

I shoot a right handed rifle as a lefty. Never had any problems. With a little practice you can work the bolt pretty fast.

Left handed and have always shot right handed rifles just fine. I actually prefer them. If I have to reload quickly my hand on the forearm just slides back and works the bolt. Left hand on the grip and trigger area never needs to be moved.

I prefer the Browning 60 degree bolt and I am a righty ! May dad is a lefty . He shoots a lot of Browning bar's, Ar's and right hand bolt rifles when he has to. Some of the big stuff we shoot only comes in right hand bolts or is next to impossible to find any other way.

LAST EDITED ON Mar-07-14 AT 09:16AM (MST)[p]I grew up shooting them and never new any different. I continue buying them now because of price, selection, and the fact that my son will have them some day. I really don't see it as a disatvantage. I also like browning.
