Titanium actions, worth the $

Other than weight, are there any advantages to a titanium action? There does not seem to be too much info floating around on them. Is this because so few gun builders actually have the necessary machines and tools to work with titanium?

I see that Extreme Shooting, Pierce, and Fierce Arms offer a TI action.

Only other advantage other than the weight savings is the cool factor:) I plan on using the Pierce Ti on my next 7MM-08 build.

It's just weight. I hunt with custom lightweight rifles and it wasn't worth it in my opinion. you can build a sub moa magnum without one that weighs 5 lbs.

Stay thirsty my friends

I agree its just the hype having a Ti rifle, build your own rifle in the caliber/action (short or long) that you want and employ lightweight features like skeletonizing/fluting/carbon stock to get the weight you want.

Something very satisfying about building a project rifle "your way" instead of buying someone else's idea.

They are worth it fi you're trying to build a rifle to a certain spec..They are especially worth it if you're dealing with John Pierce, class act and great action (or total rifle).
