I finally just got my hands on these! Anybody got some loads dialed in? I got Retumbo and H1000. I've studied the data, and load for the 165 and 180 Accubonds, but want to hear what is working for you? I'll start low as always... but love the 300 RUM!

I've loaded and hunted with the 210's. They came out first, so I grabbed them when I found them. I was satisfied but feel the 200 grain Accubond works better for me. mtmuley

Thanks mtmuley! I was waitin for your input.
I always enjoy reading your experience with the 300
RUM. I need to try the 200 grain Accubonds.
Just have loaded and shot the 165, 180's. And about
To load the 190 LR's

I may end up playing with the 190 ALR eventually. Can't seem to leave well enough alone. For the hunting I do, the regular Accubond has served me well for the last 10 years or so. mtmuley

I know huh? If it ain't broke don't fix it. But it's fun to try.
I loaded up a bunch of different loads last night, we'll see
how they fly

I am going to load up my new cases with 96.5 grains of Retumbo and put the threw the chrony in the morning.

Nosler has the load data on their web site, that's as good of start as you'll get.

I finally got my hands on a box , but my 300 WBY has a custom tight chamber and no freebore so any new load is a PITA as printed load data is about worthless.

Stay thirsty my friends

I reloaded
5 @ 91 grains of Retumbo
5 @ 93 grains of Retumbo
5 @ 94 grains of Retumbo
5 @ 94.5 grains of Retumbo
All at 3.668 C.O.A.L
I haven't gone out and shot yet, hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to test them.

I loaded up three 190 lr's @ 96.5 grains of Retumbo for my 300 Tejas. Trying to head out this morning. Really over cast ,hoping to get some good numbers.

Nosler reloading manual guide #7 on page 488 list Retumbo starting at 91.0 than 93.0 max at 95.0. Fps follows 3093,3156,3192 with a 24 inch barrel. All I need is 3150 or 3190 for my dial. I have a 26 inch barrel I'm pretty sure I should be able to get that FPS. Looking forward to those with a 300 Rum report.

My loads with 96.5 grains of retumbo 3395 average. but my groups opened up a bit.Almost a 2" 3 shot group. I need to do more work with the load before hunting with it. That was with a smoking hot barrel. We are getting ready for a hunt here in a month so I am going back to my Barnes and Bergers 168 grains. Got to get it tuned up for the turret I already have. Changed from RL 22 To Retumbo and have to slow down my loads a bit.

LAST EDITED ON Aug-08-14 AT 06:38PM (MST)[p]Found 200 of them in my LGS today. Didn't buy any as I have no time to work on them now. After thinking about it, I might buy them tomorrow so I have them. Could be good trade material. mtmuley

I got a chance to go out today and check some reloads through my Crony. I'm going with 94.5 gr of Retumbo at 3180 fps. I did check out the max load of 95.0 gr at 3204 fps. This info came from my Nosler reloading Manuel #7. I hope this helps those who are looking for some info.

My best results were with 94.5 grains of Retumbo. Shot 91, 93, 94, five rounds each. All with Retumbo. Best results were with 94.5. I want to try again with 95 next time with a chronograph

I went out yesterday re-zero my scope to this new load. Had a hard time getting it 1 inch high at 100 yards. It was 1.5 inches high at 100 yards move it down 2 click drop like 2.5 inches and to the left of center. What the heck? I had everything going against me except the wind. After I calm myself down I started looking to see what was going on. First it was a warm day and I wasn't letting my barrel cool down between shots. Second I had my shells laying out on the table under the sun. They got so hot you almost couldn't pick them up. We'll I put my shells in the back of my car under the shade and let my barrel cool down. After they both cool off I stated shooting again. Raised it back up to 2 clicks and was dead on at 1.25 high. My groups shrank to 3/4. Zero my scope in for 700 yards. Took 2 shot at a rock dead rock. I'm leaving well enough alone.

Nice work quest! Way to be patient. It's crazy how hot those barrels get. Remind me what powder and overall length you are at?

First shot center cold bore. The rest of the group was all over the place. Need more practice and a steadier rest.

First shot was dead center, cold bore. Waited two minutes after each shot, each shot was higher. I need practice and be more steady to test loads. All 91, 93, 94, and 94.5 grains of Retumbo 5 group shots are almost identical. One dead center, the rest high.

Anybody got any leads on who has some in stock?..every place I've checked is out, pm's are fine, thanks!
Mike

I was able to use this bullet in WY this year on a Antelope hunt. At 230 yard shot right behind the left shoulder. The bullet passed completely through. No Hugh holes no wasted meat and the cape was still in great shape. Just a heads up.
