My reloading buddy found, in some old stuff that belonged to his Dad, 2- 1 pound hybrid containers of this powder. The price tag on them reads $3.25 each. He doesn't know for sure how it was stored.

Is this a collectors item or something that he can reload with and shoot up?

Powder lasts a long time if stored cool and dry. If it isn't rust colored and smells ok, load it and shoot it.

Joey,

Good powder smell like "spicy rubbing alcohol" to me. It shouldn't have dusting of the powder or a rusty look.

Have him shoot it up if it looks good.

Very few powders or containers are collectable so that's probably not a viable option.

Thanks guys, i'll pass it on. I think his question to me was more about him thinking that it was neat just to come across them.

I was out in my shop yesterday, spent 4-5 hrs going thru boxes and putting stuff more where i could find it if needed. I found one box that must have had, i don't know, maybe a 6-7 hundred dollars of Nosler bullets, powders, primers, and other reloading stuff. Found lots of stuff i'd almost forgotten i had, some neat stuff if you're like me and favor the old stuff over the new. Finding old stuff is fun! Thanks again!!
