I own a 270 wsm featherweight winchester and finally found some of this ammo at a screaming deal. I'm fixing to order 3 boxes of it. Was wondering if any of you veteran shooters have had any experience with it? I've heard people complain about the coating on the bullet and others say that's b.s. and unsubstantiated. Any accuracy or barrel cleaning problems and I'd love to hear about it. Also how is reloading winchester brass? I already have 2 boxes of nosler custom but it's 100 fps slower and 60$ a box. Unaffordable to me. I plan on reloading in the next year and have been told nobler brass is far superior which I believe. Will winchester get a rookie through till I can afford better brass?

nothing wrong with win ammo or brass I reload and use win brass for my 300wsm and my wife's 270 also shoot accubond bullets haven't had any problems. I haven't heard of this accubond ct or what a smoking deal is on ammo its all expensive

Yes. I found their ammo good and the nickle Brass to be satisfactory. Most of my 270WSM reloads were done with Winchester brass.

Like the other shooters have said, Winchester brass is just fine. It's the only brass I've ever used in any WSM family cartridge. I've used the moly coated bullets in my 300 Win Mag for a number of years now. Used both the FailSafe and the CT ballistic tip and there are no cleaning issues at all. Interestingly enough, they have the exact POI at 100 yards which made it an easy choice to take the CT BT for sheep and the FAilSafe for moose on one of my trips. I still don't know how my oldest daughter talked me out of that gun. Oh, the things we do for our kids!

Note: I've found that plated brass loads differently than standard brass cases so regardless of what you do, try to keep it in like-lots of brass.
