Wind age turret

My boy was using my gun on a hunt. He was ok with the elevation turret. But was a little afraid of turning the windage turret the wrong way. Is there a way to remember or help someone feel more comfortable with the windage knob ? I wish I had windage hash marks in my scope. Maybe I will send it to Leopold in the off season. But in the mean time ? Any little saying or something like that ?

usually scopes have an arrow on the wind age and U for up or and arrow pointing with an L or R . Your scope does not have any markings at all.

Yes it has a R with a arrow . So left to right wind ,turn knob into the wind, Left. It is a VX-3 6.5 X 20 X 50. But in the heat of the moment he is afraid to turn the windage knob the wrong way. . We use a G Seven range finder. You click on the left scroll buttons and enter the wind, It tells you 2.4 wind hold at 10 mph. I guess with experience he will learn. On a cow elk hunt a few years ago. Someone turn the yardage turret down one full turn to far. I think this is where this is coming from. So rather then turn the knob his is trying to hold wind with no hash marks.
