I'm looking to reload some rounds for my 300 win mag and just wanted everyone's opion. What grain bullet should I use 165, 180, 190? I'll be mostly hunting mule deer and elk an the occasional antelope. Thanks for the input.

I like the 165 for deer size game and the 180 for elk. if you only want one bullet use the 180 .

my favorite is the 165 Hornady BTSP interlock , or for long range the 165 ballistic tip.

For elk, the 180 partition. there are many other good choices, but these bullets work the best from my experience.

RE-22 is a hard to beat powder for the 300 win mag.

That has been what I've seen as well. it is a jacketed hollow point after all.

I use the 185gr Berger VLD. Extremely pleased. Virtually no meat damage on 3 antelope and 1 muley (350-500yds). 1 elk at 50yds had some meat damage, but it was due to shot placement. I hit him high shoulder, and it tore up a bit of his front quarter. Very accurate round, pushing 3000fps.

What Mtmuley said.
There are TONS of good bullets
these days, especially with the all
copper bullets allowing some similar
performance, with less weight.

Having said that, I have some 200 grain
Accubonds loaded. They shoot well, but
will have to wait until next year to use them

I was wondering what components you guys are using for the 180 grain Accubonds?

I tried some of the Doubletap 180 Gr Accubonds they claim shoot 3050 fps out of a 24" barrel. They did not shoot worth a darn out of my 26" barrel gun. It likes the slower Federal rounds allot.

I have some Winchester 300 Brass and Fed 215M primers and 180 Grain accubonds but no powder. I was going to start with RL22 and H4831sc if I ever find any.

I was just curious what you guys do to get the Accubond to shoot well for you? I've read many guns don't like the Accubonds. I hope I don't have one of those.

I've shot 150's to 200's and my top choice is the 180 Barnes or 180 Accubond in the 300 win. I've also had great luck with the 180 Partition.

I've filled a train-car full of elk with the 180's out of the 300 win mag! It works every time without fail.

I'm not pullin mine. The increased BC almost makes up for the 200 fps loss in velocity. The difference in trajectories is negligible. and the 200s really thump elk.

+2 on the 200 grain Accubond. Over 73 grains of RL22 getting 3060fps from my 26" Remmy and 2960 with my 23 5/8" Sako. Both shoot Sub MOA groups. With this load I have put a Moose, mule deer, and countless antelope in the dirt.

Hell no but you weren't the one asking for the original opinion.

I loaded a bunch of 200 AB with MagPro powder and the trajectory is nice and the accuracy, in my rifle, was great. Oh... and they kill elk like the hammer of Thor.

I only use 2 different bullets in my ultra and the 200 AB is one of them.
