I just won a really nice Tikka synthetic, camo, stainless 300 WSM and wonder if anyone has a really good load they have come up with. What brass, powder, bullet, etc. Thanks

I have been shooting sierra 180 SBT with hodgdon h4350, cci mag primer. Have been using Winchester brass and would try something different for brass. Before you put a scope on it, switch to a limbsaver recoil pad, as it changes the length of the stock and is way easier on your shoulder. ce61

How much powder are you guys using and what are your groups like? Also have any idea on what your speed is? Was thinking of seeing about getting some nosler brass.

I've been working on loads for my A-bolt 300WSM. I've been using the Barnes 168 ttsx. I get good accuracy with RL17 but can't get the velocity that most brag about. (2840 fps) I get good velocity with IMR 4831 (3180), but terrible accuracy. I'm thinking of trying a powder with a burn rate between these two and see what happens.

Varget is to fast burning. you need to look at H or imr 4350 or reloader 19 or H or imr 4831. I am using 66.0 H4350, which is max or over with a longer COAL and chrono's 2881 fps. I tried h4831 but got better groups with h4350. ce61

I use 68 grains of RL-17 with a 150 TTSX Barnes and it produces 3250 fps through my chronograph. It's a fine round in my rifle but it might perform differently in yours. It's a MAX load in my rifle and it might be too hot in other's guns so approach with CAUTION!
It's not my "big" rifle so I've never felt the need for a heavier bullet weight.
It's successfully killed sheep, caribou and deer.
Good luck with the new rifle. I hear nothing but good about them.

I just shot 68 gr of RL-17 behind a 168 ttsx. Got the velocity up to 2940 fps. Smallest group yet and still no signs of pressure. Gonna try 68.5 and 69grs tomorrow.
Seems that most are using around 66gr with the 168, and getting 3100fps+. Not this guy. I even broke out my old beam scale to compare to my digital. They agreed with each other on weight. I also shot a couple of other rifles through my chronograph. Its working right.
I'm stumped. For whatever reason, I'm not getting the velocity. But accuracy is great.

My load is 62.3 grns of RE17 in Norma brass with 175 Barnes LRX. I get just under 3100 fps and about 1/2 MOA. I found better accuracy at about 2.820 OAL. Be careful with trying to jump to internet loads. I took a longtime to work up my load. There are several loads listed on internet sites that would be seriously over preassured in my rifle. I have a custum 26 inch match grade barrel on my rifle. Best of luck.

The load I have so far is 63gr of IMR 4350 with 185 Berger VLDs. That's a max load and ave's around 2800 muzz velocity.
