i use a tumbler for cleaning. it works good but it doesn't clean the primer pockets and the inside of the cases. does the newer sonic cleaners work better in cleaning these tasks.
thanks

I bought one of the Hornady sonic cleaners and it doesn't really clean the primer pocket. I use a q-tip to clean the residue out after the sonic cleaner then put them in my vibrating case cleaner with corn cob media.

You may need to just leave them
in there longer.

I've had good luck the old way,
but they got the ##### tumbled out
of them.

Just get a heavy gauge strand electrical wire and cut it about 1 1/2" long, strip about a 1/4" and put it in a cordless drill. I do it and they clean pretty good. I also use the wire brush tip from my rcbs primer pocket cleaner . Put the wire brush into the drill and clean away.

I use a small flathead screw driver that fits the primer pocket. Couple twists and the fouling scrapes out. I do this before throwing the brass into the tumbler.

I was not impressed at all with my sonic cleaner as far as cleaning brass. Its great for cleaning gun parts though. The stainless media cleaning is the only way to go for cleaning brass inside and out. My brass looks better than new after its cleaned in the stainless media.

I also used a tumbler for years. Tried different media added to the media. I just wanted my cases to come out clean. Like they where new! The insides and primer pockets never all came out clean like new.
A few years ago I went with a stainless steel tumbler. I wish I would have used it years before. Cases come out like new inside and out and primer pockets.Check out www.stainlesstumblingmedia.com and see what you think.

i've tumbled them for up to twelve hours with the same results. outsides really good inside and pockets no good with media stuck in primer pockets holes. might have to go with the stainless steel media kit

X2 on BIGJOHN's comment!!!! I have the Rebel 17 and it works great, plus its made right here in Utah....
