Humidity Inside of a Gun Safe?

Hunters, recently I purchased a Cannon gun safe and I need to know about what is the 'correct' humidity % to be maintained inside of it. I have two of the canister type de-humidifers inside the safe. I have an instrument inside that says that most of the time the relative humidity is close to or about 60% level. This is my first gun safe and I need a little honest advice on the 'maintenance' of it on the inside. Cow Tag

I've had one of these for over a decade and have not had a problem.

What would be the ideal humidity level to keep inside of a gun safe?

If you live in a dry climate forget about it. I've never seen a gun rust unless it was abused.

If you're in a swamp I'd buy some good equipment and use it properly.

LAST EDITED ON Nov-12-15 AT 06:50AM (MST)[p]Living in mid Michigan ,I have my gunsafe in my work shop that is not heated and had a bad humidity problem. The electric rod was not enough so I installed a small electric heater with a thermostat that I keep at 65 degrees. Stopped all moisture problems.
