ELDX

I don't know Don but I'll keep my eyes and ears open for you.
I'll tell you something you probably already know: they're accurate.
My buddy has been shooting the 6.5's in his 6.5-284 and he leaves zero paper between the bullet holes!
All the "big boys" say this is a bullet to keep an eye on.
best, Zeke

I can find the ELD Match in 284 but not the X's... I'm half tempted just buy them just to try them out...

LAST EDITED ON Mar-13-16 AT 04:48PM (MST)[p]Im in the same boat, I cant find the x's anywhere. I bought a box of the eld m bullets. When my custom 280AI gets done im gonna do a wet magazine test on the m bullets to see how they hold up.

I can't find the bullets anywhere, all on back order. Today I saw midway has the pro hunter ammunition in stock with the eld-X bullets.

LAST EDITED ON Apr-09-16 AT 11:32AM (MST)[p]I'll keep an eye out at Sportsman's as they seem to have a pretty good supply of the ELD-X bullets every time I stop in.

Out of my new semi custom 300 Win Mag I'm liking what I've seen so far from the 212gr ELD-X. The 212 gr speed isn't as fast as I'd like (2891) but the accuracy is really good in minimal testing by the gunsmith.

I've got a bunch of the 200 gr ELD-X loaded with H1000/ Win Brass/Fed 215M primers so we'll see if I'm able to get better speed with a hotter primer, more case capacity and 12 gr less bullet.

I usually shoot the Accubonds or Partitions but the ELD-X has a few things going for it that the other don't have.

1) Much higher BC
2) Much cheaper 200 gr bullet. .45 each compared to Nosler at .75 each at retail pricing

They have very similar expansion to the Nosler Bullets as the interlock ring keeps them together.

The ELD-X just might be the better all around hunting bullet and if you shoot past 600 yards, in initial testing has signs of being a better performing bullet than the Accubond.

Just bought two boxes of Hornady Precision Hunter 7MM, 162 grain from Sportsman Warehouse as I couldn't wait any longer for just the bullets. Curious to know if anyone knows what powder Hornady is offering in their 7MM 162 grain load?
Thanks, Bullfrog

Guys- Cabelas has a limited supply of the 162 gr .284 bullets in ELD-X right now. I have two boxes on the way. FYI, you can find ELD-X reloading data on hornady website. It is kind of hidden, PM me and I can email the PDF as well.

I have been trying to find some 212 grain ELDX in 30 cal. I finally gave up and placed a back order at Midway . It has worked for me before. I still haven't seen any yet. But it's only been over a week.

Lol... Thanks muzz that might be the only way I see these things go down range... I'm having a 280ai built from a highly recommended guy just north of Ogden, Utah... After my gun is done I don't know if I'd highly recommend him...

muzz believe me I've wanted to drive up there to get my parts several times... Here's the problem with that, I traded a rifle to him for his gunsmith services to build my rifle... I bought all the parts he just had to put the puzzle together... I've been pretty patient with it all until last week... I think he got my point...

Anyhow onto the subject at hand... I bought some ELD Match's a month ago thinking my gun would be done before I found ELD X's (silly me) well take a look at the photo below...

Wouldn't you think that the "heat shield" would be the same material???

Anybody have any insight as to why they are different??? They are both 162gr. bullets... Just curious, ELD X on the left and ELD Match on the right

They had to change the color of the material used in the tip due to a lawsuit. I think it was federal that started the lawsuit.

Well I'm gonna try my eld match bullets out of my280ai. I'm sure they will kill just fine.
