I saw Bess mention Anschutz in the Gun Show post and I realized I haven't heard that name here before. How many of you guys have an Anschutz? I have the 1416L 22 LR and really like it. the Stock is kind of cheap but the accuracy is better than any other 22 I've ever shot. I will post pics later. Do any of you have one in Centerfire? if so, how are they?

My Friend and reloading Pard has one, part Savage, it has the pistol grip palm swell stock and a heavy barrel with a super light trigger. It's fun to shoot different 22LR ammo thru it off the bench and see what ammo shoots the best 10 shot groups. In almost all cases, the gun shoots better than the accuracy of the ammo one will, by chance, feed it. Really nice gun, unfortunately, he won't sell. :)

LAST EDITED ON Jun-09-16 AT 04:15PM (MST)[p]I've heard that some are part Savage. I'm not a big fan of them, but that's just me. I bought it because it's part German and they seem to build nice things.
Here it is. You can see the stock is kind of dark. It's not disgusting, but I think it could be better. I've thought of having a custom stock built or even try to build one myself. I would have to try it out on a less expensive piece of wood first. One of our sub-contractors has a CNC machine and he is pretty good with it, he said he'd be willing to try it out. The other rifle is a model 52 with a custom stock that I think looks good.

Like most manufacturers Anschutz has better models . I have a 1717 in 17HMR and it's a fine rifle that shoots sub MOA . the safety is a POS but that's my only gripe.

the 1517 is a more economical model that seems to be a good rifle from what I've seen. they've sold these barreled actions to Weatherby as well as others.

I don't care for the looks of their centerfire rifles but I'm sure they're high quality.

We shoot sand rats by the thousand and the Anschutz is a popular gun with the serious shooters. if there is a gun that might out shoot it I'd say it's the Volquartsen they're amazing.

I sold guns in a gun-friendly sporting goods store (Wolfes) for over 20 years and while I've never owned one, they were always known for their impeccable quality and stellar accuracy. Lots of happy customers.

If I'd have know then what I know now, I have one of my own but sadly I do not.
