Got my bolt back

Yup, that Karl does fine work & is a super nice guy to deal with. I've had him do a bunch of bolts over the years and was fortunate to have him build a rifle for me, one of the last full builds to come out of his shop I think.

That's ugly, NOT!

Man, I like that treatment on your bolt. Karl does some kind of fine work.

Thanks guys I am tickled pink with the way it came out. It is a hunting rifle so no polished bolt. Although he is doing a rifle build for my son. It should be here in a week or so. It maybe a bit more flashy. It's a Remenington 700 bolt with a fluted hunter knob. Karl calls it TI flute with a black Cerakote.

Where is he at? Cost and turn around time for bolt flute job?

Sandpoint Idaho and on his web site he list his prices. I have family in Sandpoint . When my kids went up for Easter I had them drop off a bolt and rifle.

Muzz,
Karl Feldcamp, owner of Kampfeld Kustoms. I've been shipping stuff to him back when he lived in Michigan (I think).

As Big John said, he's in Idaho now and I can't speak for his turn around time but I've always been pleasantly surprised.

You can find it by googling Kampfeld.....or bolt fluting.

I've had him skeletonize my bolt handles since everything has been for my mountain rifles but I REALLY like the testicle...er tacticool or tactical bolt handle knobs and my rifle after the next will have one like Big John's. Sweet stuff.

Looks very good! Karl also has a knob called campfire knob. A bit smaller but very nice. His work is amazing. He just fluted my barrel and bolt. Took a little persuasion but he did my m70 bolt. I'm still debating a bolt knob.

I spoke with Karl today. He said its usually a two week turn around on a bolt job. It just depends on his work load at the time. The gun he is doing for us will have a polished bolt with black flutes and a spiral fluted knob . (camp fire) I will post pictures when we get it back.

Should look similar to this?? Ti flute & graphite black cerakote and regular Campfire knob, great combo IMHO.

Very nice looking rifle Oregonmuley. Looks like a 6.5 x ?

Nope, just a ordinary old 7MM-08 SPS stainless I sent to Karl. He cut the barrel down to 22.5", bead blasted it so now its a much nicer statin finish versus the rough SPS finish and had him put in a side bolt release and a Shilen trigger. Sits in a Classic Edge stock, nice little rifle.
