Here in CA we will be required to have lead free bullets in a couple years. I am looking for a bullet drop comparison chart for my 130 grain 270. Does anyone have a link to information on how this requirement will effect bullet drop?

Jbm calculations.
What bullet are you currently shooting? Most drops will be relatively close to 500 yards given your using a 130gr now. The 130ttsx is a good bullet in the 270. It's what I use for my CA load.

I currently shoot Remington Core Lok 270 130 grain. My delema is I just got Leupold VX3i scope and need to order a turrets. I don't like the idea of getting it for 2 seasons and then needing to get a new one for a non lead round. Or do I just go non lead now and order the respective turret?

If you are gonna order a custom cds turret I'd buy a few different boxes of non lead and see how it shoots in your rifle. Then order the turret for whatever non lead ammo shoots best.

In my daughters 270 she shoots the Barnes 130 grain TTSX bullets. If your rifle shoots them well. There is no need to change back to a leaded bullet. You can buy them at any gun shop or reload your own. Just get your turret after you shot them and like them.

We use a slew of Barnes bullets because they shoot well and they work well.... not because we're mandated to do so. Don't feel like you're sacrificing by having to use a mono when there are such great ones out there.

The .277 130 TTSX is a great bullet as is the same rendition in the 150 and 168 .308 cal.

Find what works and then get a turret (if that's your thing) but I suspect the drop will be relatively close to where you are now. Just check your BC and velocity and go from there.

We converted over to the Nosler E-Tip 130gr for 270 in three rifles dont group as tight sa lead bullets but 1- to 1 1/4 in groups.....read instructions if you hand load....all non lead bullets create higher chamber pressures go by manufactures recommendations on load data for these new non lead bullets...call the bullet manufacture for there test data on most accurate load and what powder they used...good starting point...good luck..
