Other than that it looks pretty good even for a first or last attempt. I think Browning has a couple models that they use gold on and you've made yours look like that,

While it's not my cup-o-tea I can appreciate anything that someone else likes about guns.

Here is a picture of the floor plate on my custom 7x57mm Mauser that was built for me back in 1968. It also had engraving on the rifle tip of barrel, around the action and trigger guard.
