Just recently a new business moved into a place that was and had been a Gun Shop for at least 5 years but moved out and this place just opened BUT never there. There is a number to call I guess if you want to ask questions.

It is called American Cerekote but what kind of business is it? I have heard of Cerekote but do any of you know what kind of firearm relation it is? Is it have to do with finish of metal or stock colors or both?

It's a metal coating that comes in various colors. tougher than the other coatings such as Teflon but it still scratches and wears .

I think it's the best and most popular coating on the market these days.

So here is the skinny on Cerakote...my gunsmith just started offering this coating procedure....Basically Cerakote is like re-blueing metal in various colors....they offer about 14 different colors....some mostly bench shooters and such like to trick out rifles and handguns by changing colors on various parts of the firearm. My gunsmith showed me pics of ladies semi-auto pistol done in pink and silver...and a semi-auto rifle in three different colors...yes the coating does scratch like blueing.....these coatings are more durable that blueing and do not rust...

There are subtle yet glaring differences.
bluing is in the metal and cerekote is a paint on bake finish and can be done to stainless, aluminum, as well a chromoly steel. Both have their pros and cons
